JUBILEES, silver, golden and diamond, proliferate like the greetings cards that celebrate every kind of event from a broken leg to a life sentence. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that the 50th anniversary of the first rigid eight-wheeled lorry should have been marked by a gala procession of vehicles spanning the years from 1934-84 from London to the Science Museum outstation at Wroughton, near Swindon.
