Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DAYTON-WALTHER has added semi and fully automatic hydraulic landing legs to its range of truck and trailer equipment.

It is designed for distribution operations where trailers are frequently dropped and collected. The semi-automatic legs are activated by a manually operated hydraulic pump using air drawn from the tractive unit's emergency brakeline.

Pumping is necessary only to raise the trailer clear of the fifthwheel, as the air from the brakeline is sufficient to lower the legs to ground level. Raising the legs to their travelling position is also effected without any manual effort.

The fully automatic system uses an air-driven pump operated by a three-position level, enabling the driver to raise or lower the trailer landing legs in a matter of seconds.

The equipment is available in kit form from Dayton-Walther fitting agents who also distribute the company's Vanguard mechanically operated legs. List price for the semi-automatic legs is £1,100 with the fully automatic unit priced at £1,400.
