Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A CHASSIS-MOUNTED lowprofile cantiliver (Ipc) tail lift which allows the loading platform to remain completely level when it is being raised and lowered has been introduced by Ray Smith (Tail Lifts).

It has a capacity of 1,500kg (29.55cwt) (1,000kg optional) and is electro-hydraulically operated.

The standard 1.21m (410 length platform can be supplied in either aluminium or steel and is available with a unique automatic secondary platform which not only acts as a safety stop for roll-cage pallets when raised vertically, but can also be used in conjunction with the main platform as a dock-loading leveller.

When loading directly on to a loading bank, the Ipc lift platform may be lowered vertically below the vehicle floor level, A simplified control system using separate functions removes the need to press tilt and height control buttons simultaneously unlike other cantilever units. A universal chassis-fitting bracket developed from its existing Swedish-designed Scanlift range enables the Ipc lift to be mounted on any chassis.

Platform depths have been reduced significantly on the Ipc to 100mm (3.94in) on alloy platform units and 80mm (3.15in) on steel platforms. An optional 900mm (2.95ft) length platform can also be specified. Weight for an alloy platform Ipc model excluding secondary ramp is 460kg (9.06cwt).

Glacier DX maintenance-free bearings have been used throughout replacing grease nipples on the lift and tilt cylinder bearings. As a result, service times have been shortened with the only maintenance required Above: The secondary platform not only acts as a load barrier but also as a lead-on ramp.

being a regular hydraulic oil check. Ray Smith claims these bearings will have a seven-toeight year service life.

List price for a standard spec tail lift with alloy platform and secondary ramps is £2,300 although optional steel platform units will be priced the same as conventional column lifts, according to the company.
