FOUR National Bus Company subsidiaries have gained managers.

Southern National, based at Taunton, has Ian Barwell as its new traffic manager. He succeeds Ben Colson who is the new traffic manager for Northampton-based United Counties.

Mr Barwell was previously as sistant traffic manager at Eastern National for just under 18 months and for six years before that a district traffic superintendent there. He has been with NBC since 1969.

From next month George Peach will become traffic manager of Yorkshire Traction, based at Barnsley. He started at Trent Motor Traction as a bus conductor in 1963, joined the West Riding Group in 1976 and from 1979 was its assistant traffic manager. In his new position he takes over from Michael Hunter who is now the new traffic manager of the West Riding Group.

Gerry Mitchell is now the new fleet engineer to City of Oxford Motor Services. He has taken over the responsibility for engineering, vehicles, plant and property within the company undertaken before by Richard Hall. Mr Hall is leaving NBC for London Transport. Mr Mitchell has been with NBC for six years and before his latest promotion was Oxford's assistant operating managing (engineering).

NBC Computer Services has a new secretary following the departure of Peter Latham to a post outside NBC. Duncan Bates, who has a strong accounting background and was the company's assistant secretary from 1 98 2, has been promoted to the position. NBC Computer Services provides computer facilities to its 50 local operating subsidiaries and is based in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
