• An application by Howitt Transport and Howitt Brothers, of Liverpool, to the National Industrial Relations Court for interim relief against blacking of lorries at Liverpool Docks was adjourned on Tuesday.
Miss Caroline Alton, representing the transport companies, had told Sir John Donaldson, NIRC president that her clients and the TGWU would like to clear the matter up without legal action if possible.
