Live demonstrations of three Penman demountable systems can be seen on this stand or in the demonstration park. A BLMC Boxer chassis is shown with a container that is demounted with the aid of electro-hydraulically operated legs that are swivel-mounted on the container, while a Penman /U BD system seen applied to the body of a Ford Transit 35 cwt chassis is of the type in which mobile jacks are used to lift the body. The third example comprises a Bedford chassis, to be seen in the demonstration park, to which is fitted a fullhydraulic system that features built-in jacks. The container of the Boxer chassis is of grpfaced plywood and has a length of 24ft, while the aluminium body of the Ford Transit has a capacity of 540 cu ft.
