Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Metro-Cammell-Weymann Ltd, PO Box 248, Leigh Road, Washwood Heath, Birmingham 88 2YJ.

There are two vehicles on the MCW stand together with a further one in the demonstration park. On the stand is a double-deck body of a Bristol VAT chassis which is for the West Midland Passenger Transport Executive. Thought to be the first vehicle on this chassis built for the PTE, the bus has 76 seats. There is no standee accommodation. The bus has a single access door and is 9.5m long.

Both the other MCW vehicles are versions of the integral Metro-Scania single-decker. On the stand is a standard 10m bus for the Wirral area of the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive. The Scania D11 engine is fitted as is automatic transmission, power steering and air suspension. There are 47 seats and room for a further 21 standees. Built with a single door, the vehicle is designed for one-man operation. The other Metro-Scania is outside in the demonstration park. It is the "quiet" bus which has been in service with Leicester Corporation Transport for some months. External noise measurements at MIRA have been as low as 77dBA.

MCVV's most interesting current development — an integral double-deck version of the Metro-Scania — is expected to enter trial service at the end of the year. Doubtless it will be on show in Glasgow next year.
