M & 0 Trailers (Lye) Ltd, Hayes Lane, Lye, nr Stourbridge, Worcs.

Three semi-trailers are exhibited by this company; the first is a 12-metre TIR model plated at 29.5 tons gross trailer weight. Construction comprises two fabricated I-section main-members 19in. deep by 4in. wide and 4in. by 1.75in. channel section cross-members. The widespread tandem axle running gear with multi-leaf springs and the 22,5001b capacity axles are both ROB. Tyre equipment is Michelin 10.00 — 20in. twin formation.

Special features of the platform include four flush-fitting lashing rings and under each chassis side, four shiplashing rings.

Also on the stand is a 3eft-long platform skeletal plated to 29' tons gross trailer weight and fitted with twistlocks to handle one 30ft or one 20ft ISO container. A similar tandem axle bogie to the TIR model is used on this trailer except that monoleaf suspension is used.

The side rail has been built to customer specification and comprises two angle iron sections bolted together back to back leaving a ftush common side and enabling a 'flush floor to be obtained. Cut-outs are provided at the twistlock positions. The lower flange of the main frame members and the side rail are extended forward and bent to provide a 2ft headboard. The trailer is designed to operate at 36 tons gcw.

Finally there is a 34ft-long coil carrying semi-trailer which uses the same section I-beam main-members and channel section cross-members as other models. The tandem-axle ROR widespread bogie uses monoleaf springs. The floor is 0.875 half lapped keruing with heavy-duty hardwood trap doors covering the V-shaped well. The bogie is plated to 20 tons and the trailer to 29.5 tons gross trailer weight.
