A grp double taper design tank is displayed for the first time on this stand. The tank, made by the continuous wind process developed by the' company, is mounted on a Hands Neway air-suspension two-axle bogie and is plated for operation within the Shell-Mex fleet at 32 tons gcw. Tank capacity is 5300 gal of fuel oil.

The shell is constructed by passing glassfibre stored on bobbins through a resin trough and then onto a fabricated former which revolves and oscillates to and fro in front of the grp feed. The grp is applied in this helical manner until the required shell thickness is obtained. The end pieces are attached at a later stage of the process.

The bogie is plated to 16 tons and unladen trailer weight is 4 tons 16cwt 3qr — sii-nilar to an aluminium tank semi-trailer.
