A York Big D fifth-wheel is fitted.
The largest Scania is the 140 and this range is represented on the stand by the model LBT 140 S 34, a 6x 4 tractive unit which can operate at up to 70 tons gcw. Wheelbase is lift Oin. The 140's V8 turbocharged engine is one of the most powerful available in Europe and has been certificated to BS AU 141a: 1971 at 335 bhp at 2300 rpm and 912 lb ft torque at 1500 rpm. The 10-speed GR 860 transmission is used in conjunction with Scania double-drive axles RB651 /R651. The model on show has a sleeper cab and left-hand steering for Continental operation, and a Crane Fruehauf fifth-wheel. The all-steel cab is built to strict Swedish safety standards, and superbly furnished and trimmed providing excellent driver comfort.
The cabs of 80, 110 and 140 models all tilt by means of an hydraulic system for access to the power units.
