AEC vehicles are represented by three exhibits, a two-axle tractive unit and threeand four-axle rigids.

The Mandator (2TGAR) 4 x 2 tractive unit on show has a 9ft Bin wheelbase and is plated for operation at 32 tons gcw. The AEC-built AV760 six-cylinder diesel develops 205 bhp at 2200 rpm. The rear axle is a double-reduction design.

The Marshal (3TGM6RT) 6 X 4 tipper/mixer chassis on show has 14ft 3in wheelbase and is plated for operation at 24 tons gvw. This model is powered by the AEC-built AV505 8.2 litre diesel which develops 145 bhp at 2400 rpm and 369 lb ft at 1300 rpm. A Six-speed constant mesh gearbox is used which has an overdrive top gear in conjunction with a double-drive single-reduction axle. The fully tilting all-steel Leyland Group Ergomatic cab is fitted. A full air braking system uses spring brake Units for parking and secondary braking.

An eight-wheeler built to satisfy the latest C and U Regulations for operation at 30 tons gvw is the last AEC exhibit. This is the Mammoth Major 8 (3TG8R-11 8 X 4 tipper chassis cab. Wheelbase of this model, to comply with the 30 ton limit, is 18ft 11 in. This model, like the Mandator, is powered by the 12.47-litre AV760 diesel and has a sixspeed constant mesh gearbox as standard with the option available of a 10-speed overdrive range-change gearbox.

Bogie spread is 5ft and its plated capacity is 19 tons. Twin double-reduction rear axles are carried on four underslung springs. A full air braking system is used with cam-operated brakes with spring brake parking on second and fourth axles. The Ergomatic cab is also fitted to this model.
