TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY coach chassis worth over £350,000 have been ordered by Coras lompair Eireann from McC aims Motors Ltd., VauxhaWBedford assemblers and distributors in the Republic of Ireland. This is one of the biggest-ever single orders for Bedford passenger chassis. The order comprises 100 Bedford VASS and 130 Bedford SB5 chassis. All are destined to be school buses for the Ministry of Education and will be assembled in Ireland.

They will serve a new scheme to provide school transport for children living in country districts. Deliveries of the chassis have already begun.

• W. Alexander and Sons (Midland) Ltd., of Falkirk—members of the Scottish Bus Group Ltd.—have ordered 25 Daimler Fleetline buses, bringing the number of Fleetlines in service and on order with Alexander (Midland) to a total of 70. A "sister" company—W. Alexander and Sons (Fife) Ltd., of Kirkaldy—has ordered 20 Fleetlines of the same type.

Both orders are for the 30 ft-long (16 ft 3 in wheelbase) doubledeck model. All will have Gardner 6LX 10.45-litre diesel engines and Daimatic semi-automatic gearboxes mounted transversely at the rear of the chassis.

Bodywork for these vehicles will be by Walter Alexander and Co. (Coachbuilders) Ltd., of Glasgow Road, Falkirk.
