OPERATORS UNHAPPY with the Dartford Crossing toils should take this opportunity to contact their trade association or local MP to support proposals to scrap two-way charging.
Transport minister Sadiq Khan has responded to calls for the tolls CO be scrapped by suggesting one-way toils, or a change to the lay-out and technology used in order to cut congestion and improve safety.
The Freight Transport Association supports his suggestions, saying that. while the northbound toll helpfully regulates the flow of traffic, there is no practical need to control the southbound flow.
