Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

/ Mercedes-Benz has launched a right-hand-drive version of its 0405 citybus with Walter Alexander aluminium bodywork at about i.100,000 for the complete unit.

The underframe will be supplied to the Falkirk-based bodybuilder with a front cowl, full air suspension and an encapsulated engine and drivetrain. There is also an option for guided bus equipment to be fitted.

It is powered by a MercedesBenz 0M447 horizontal sixcylinder low-emission engine which produces 157kW (210hp) compared to a ZF 4HP 500 fully automatic transmission with a built-in retarder. It meets Euro-1 emission legislation.

Alexander's all-aluminium body is based on its PS range and called Cityranger. It is built to DipTAC standards with two entrance steps at 180mm; the floor slopes to the back of the saloon. Aberdeen-based Grampian Regional Transport has placed the first order for this 11.6m bus. It is certified to carry 76 passengers — 51 seated and 25 standing. GRT has ordered 20 single-door models and a 17.6m articulated version called the 0405G Cityranger which will be delivered soon.

The t200,000 artic is to be certified to carry 120 passengers — 60 seated and 60 standing. GRT has asked for the artic to be fitted with kneeling suspension, double glazing, a video monitoring system to allow the driver to check the three back doors, an electronic passenger information system and a corn

puter controlled heating and air conditioning system.

British operators will be able to get service back-up from Mercedes-Benz UK commercial vehicle dealers. Until now the 0405 citybus has been targeted at continental European, Far Eastern and Australasian operators.
