• Bedford Trucks has won an 211 million order to supply the Ministry of Defence with 281 TM4-4 two-axle trucks for delivery between now and March 1988.
The order appears to give more security to the 1,000-strong workforce which has remained at Dunstable since Bedford pulled out of the UK civilian commercial vehicle market at the end of last year.
