Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A fly-tipping lorry driver who rammed a building company's Land Rover which was blocking his escape has been ordered to pay a total of 21,245 in fines and compensation at the Old Bailey.

Lee Jackson of Nelson Road, Belvedere, Kent pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to the Land Rover, which belongs to the Costain Civil Engineering company, at a roundabout in Sidcup, Kent.

The court heard how Brian Towns was working for Costain when he saw the lorry drive on to a roundabout which was under construction. He suspected the lorry of tipping his load, and to prevent it leaving drove the Land Rover across the access road. The truck reversed, hitting the Land Rover and driving off.

The court was told that Jackson had no previous convictions and his defence counsel Simon Brilliant said that Jackson wished to express his deepest regrets, both to the court and to Towns. He said Jackson never intended that there would be a collision.

After hearing that Jackson made his living from driving, Recorder Geoffrey Rivlin QC decided not to ban him from driving, but did say that "this was a disgraceful little incident."

Jackson was fined 2400 and ordered to pay 2795 compensa. tion to Costain and 250 compensation to Towns.
