Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Cummins Engines says its C-Series engine range, which has been available to bus and coach operators since last year's NEC, will gradually be phased in for truck applications during the course of 1988. The engine builder, however, is not saying which truck manufacturers will offer the C-Series, or whether it will be assembled in the UK.

The 8.3-litre C-Series is currently offered for PSV applications in either 157kW (211hp) turbocharged, or 179kW (240hp) charge-cooled versions. Both engines are expected to be carried over for truck appliction with Cummins seeing them fitted in sixand eight-wheelers, as well as lightweight artics.

A 119kW (160hp) naturallyaspirated version could also be offered for trucks.
