Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• National Freight Consortium subsidiary Newsflow has won the contract td distribute the Star Sunday Sport, which was relaunched last month and has a circulation of 700,000.

Newsflow, which already distributes three the People, the Mirror and the Sunday Mirror for Mirror Group, was dealt a bodyblow in July when it lost its London Daily News business when the paper was closed by its owner Robert Maxwell.

To service the new contract Newsflow has doubled its fleet to 300 by using spot-hire vehicles to handle the extra weekend work. Managing director Doug Carlin says the added distribution will stretch the company's resources, but can be absorbed by using outside vehicles and vehicles nor mally used as cover in case of breakdowns. Drivers are also working overlapping five-thy shifts, with the entire workforce on duty on Saturday nights.

Newsflow was set up to distribute the Landon Daily News when it was launched in early 1987, and won the contract for the other Mirror Group newspapers soon after.
