experts say IRTE transport policy being reversed now there is endless consultation before the policy is announced.
He told the meeting that the institute was closely concerned with any questions of quantity licensing and the improvement of professional competence as well as those affecting vehicle design and replacement.
Transport Managers' Licensing was also welcomed in Mr McKay's speech. "We offer a warm welcome at last to the basic tests that are to be carried out by the Royal So ciety of Arts." And he announced that the IRTE hopes to co-operate with other bodies in establishing diplomas in transport.
"They will cover operations and engineering which will be as good as any others in the EEC," he told members.
