NEXT WEEK'S issue of Commercial Motor will contain a free copy of CM's Guide tc 24-hour and Emergency Service. It will also feature the first in a new series al important articles explaining the Industrial Relations Act and its effects in the mac transport world.
The service guide is a new edition, just completed and containing many revisions. It lists, for each major make of truck, and for many makes of trailer also, the dealers and garages able to offer breakdown, spares or workshop service outside normal workinc hours. Each entry provides name, address, normal and emergency telephone numbers. times of opening and, in some cases, the tonnages that can be lifted and towed.
There is expected to be particularly heavy demand for this October 29 issue Commercial Motor, and those who wish to make sure of a copy are advised to place a firm order with a newsagent at once.
The contentious Industrial Relations Act will create a whole new basis for laboui relations in this country — not least in the legal obligations placed upon employers in respect of consultation, disclosure of business information to trade unions, and the reasons for dismissal of employees.
