Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LAST week we gave a short descripLation of the new Maudslay Marathon light chassis for 39:seater buses or 32-seater coaches. In addition to this the' Maudslay Motor Co., Parkside, Coventry, announces two other new machines. One of these is styled the Magna, built for carrying a 40-seater body, and the other the Mogul, which is a goods chassis and in general construction follows closely on the lines of previous Maudslay goods vehicles. Its pay-load capacity is 71 tons, but at the time of going to press further particulars of these two last-minute announcements are not available.

The Marathon is a forward-control machine with 81,5 b.h.p.. four-eylindered petrol engine, and in chassis form weighs only.2 tons 171 cwt. A notable feature is found in the frame which has longitudinal members of girder section.

It is a clean structure, kicked up over the rear axle, and incorporates tubular and pressed-steel cross-members, bolts being exclusively employed in its construction. For carrying the power unit a subframe is employed, this being'mounted on rubber.

Final drive is by underslung worm. and Dewandre triple vacuum-servo brakes are standardized.
