PALL-EX IS launching a range of services and products for its members to sell next year in a bid to keep close to the UK market despite its European expansion.
Deputy chief executive Cris Stephenson said: “Trading in the year to date had been reasonably buoyant despite the economic situation,” but he added the network remained focused on supporting its 85 UK members. Although Pall-Ex’s push to open 15 networks across Europe by 2015 remains on track, with France and Poland due to launch in 2013, Stephenson said UK member growth remained important.
More details will be revealed next year, but he hinted: “We’ve got some new services [for 2013]. We believe members must be able to offer customers the complete package in terms of how to move their goods.” • The latest research from the Association of Pallet Networks suggests its members are on course to beat 2011’s record-breaking pallet volumes. As of the third quarter, almost 12 million pallets have been shifted, 3.4% higher than the same period in 2011.
