DUTCH MOVES to create ultraquiet trucks suitable for late night and early morning supermarket deliveries have led to a positive reaction from local authorities in Doncaster and London. They are considering allowing operators to make deliveries at times currently banned by truck curfews.
Sainsbury's is evaluating 40 trailers bought in the Netherlands after looking at the Dutch system which cuts journey times by up to 60%, because deliveries can be made at less congested times.
