L again took the largest share f the commercial vehicle marat in October with 5,266 sales most of them from the cornany's Austin Morris division. For the second month runing, Ford were beaten into .3cond place with 5,131 sales, 'hich is more than 3,000 less Ian in October of last year. Commercial vehicle sales in ritain fell by 21.9 per cent last ionth in comparison with Octo3r 1979. According to these ociety of Motor Manufacturers id Traders' figures, foreign ianufacturers took 25.2 per cent the market — about the same ; in October 1979 and also for le year to date.
Of the British manufacturers, addon Atkinson has been hit 3rticularly hard. Last month the )mpany sold only 178 vehicles, ;mowed with 413 in the same ,onth of last year.
Nhile their share of the market still healthy, Foreign manufacrers are also producing less )art from a few exceptions Ich as Volkswagen, Daihatsu/.lep, and Mitsubishi.
