ERRYMASTERS" LTD have amed Brian Gunby as their reional operations manager ;outh) dealing with the cornany's services to and from Jestern Europe and Scandinaia. He joins Ferrymasters from enwicks Freight Northern Ltd there he was director and genral manager. Mr Gunby will be ased at the new depot on the Vhitehouse Industrial Estate, nwich, and his responsibilities fill include the positioning of ie company's tractive and -ailer fleet in southern England.
Freightlinercare, the ationwide container storage, laintenance and repair arm of reightliner, is to be spearleaded by a specialist marketing nd operations team with 'reightliner's chief engineer Filser becoming execuive in charge. Completing the nanagement team are terminal nanager at Birmingham Harold :ross who takes over as general nanager, and Mark Papworth vho has been made product defelopment manager responsible or the marketing and financial ispects of the scheme. Apart rom Mr Papworth, the other nembers of the management orce will retain their present 'reightliner positions.
Roy Nicklinson has been promoted to the position of general manager of White and Company Ltd, the International moving and storage company. Previously the group's operations manager, Mr Nicklinson is based at White's Botley offices near Southampton.
Ian Irwin, managing director of Scottish Transport Group and chairman of the Scottish Bus Group, has been elected a vicepresident of the International Union of Public Transport.
John Palmer has taken on the new post of freight and operations manager for the Felixstowe division of Townsend Thoresen. In 1956, Mr Palmer joined Atlantic Steam Navigation which was later taken over by European Ferries Ltd. He moved to Felixstowe in 1974 as freight and passenger manager for Townsend Thoresen.
Jack McAndrew has rejoined Edbro Ltd as general manager of Edbro (London). Mr McAndrew rejoins the company from Anthony Loaders, part of the York Group, where he was managing director, based in north London.
Still at Edbro, Cyril Taylor has retired as managing director of Edbro Ltd, Bolton, after nearly 47 years service. Mr Taylor joined Edwards Bros (Tippers) Ltd (as Edbro was then known) as a clerk in 1934. He joined the Edbro Group main board in 1962 and became managing director of Edbro Ltd in 1975. He remains a non-executive director of Edbro (Holdings) Ltd.
