WILKINSON Transport has won the 1980 Centre for Physical Distribution Management Award for Excellence for the introduction of its fully computerised parcels monitoring service, Wilkontrol.
The award was made following a paper submitted on behalf of the company's systems manager Dr Graham Matthews.
Wilkontrol was introduced by Wilkinson Transport about 12 months ago. The system links each of the company's 16 depots and enables the company to recall information on the status of any parcel in its network at the push of a button.
