THE OFFICIAL enquiry into the escape of dangerous fumes which affected seamen on the "Asiafreighter" last week will also look into the arrangements for transporting the cargo overland.
Mr Peter Shore, the Trade Secretary, promised this in the Commons this week when he announced that he had appointed an inspector to investigate the incident.
Mr Teddy Taylor (Tory, Glasgow Cathcart) urged that the Inspector should be charged with reviewing the arrangements whereby gases were transported by lorry once they arrived in port.
