/-1 licence were granted to both Edwards Transport (LydbrOok) Ltd. and G. Read (Transport) Ltd., of Mitcheftican, by the Western Licensing Authority at Bristol last week,
Mr. G. Bevan, road transport manager of Richard Thomas-Baldwins Ltd., said in support there had been such an increased demand for steel that the present facilit:es were strained and there was a substantial backlog of traffic. Even the present applications, if granted, would not be sufficient, .said, and there was no question of diverting traffic from rail to road.
In granting the applications, Mr. S. W. Nelson said a good case had been made.
