Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

II Driver Kenneth Webb, who killed himself and his wife when he crashed into a queue of trucks last year, may have been suffering from the sleep disorder apnoea, a Luton inquest has heard.

Bedfordshire deputy coroner Dr Alex Paton learnt that Webb had been instructed not to drive after being diagnosed with sleep apnoea in 1998 and angina last year. Apnoea causes disruption to sleep patterns at night and drowsiness during the day.

Webb had been carrying a cargo of cola when he crashed on the M1 in November last year after veering onto the hard shoulder. The accident left two other drivers badly injured and unable to work. Paton recorded an accident verdict.
