Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Leyland-based TVAC and AMK Automotive have introduced a lowering rear air suspension for vans and lightweight trailers which is said to be inexpensive and easy to fit.

Glide-Rite uses existing suspension mounting points, so fitting is straightforward and the chassis needs no modification.

The system is available on an introductory offer for £1,900 including fitting, which should take around eight hours.

• TVAC has also introduced hydraulically steered mid and

tag axles, using Hendrickson and ZF components: mid-steer axles have been fitted to Daf 55Series vehicles in Holland and sold as factory options.

The company has also designed an electronically controlled hydraulic rear-steer system employing Gigant parts. It is being tested on a pair of Volvo FL7 6x2s.

Both of these 26-tonners have been fitted with super single tyres to improve their lock; they are currently being used as tankers in Ireland.
