Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Peter Hobbs and John Mills, the London drivers serving seven-and-a-half years in Bulgaria for smuggling 20.5kg of heroin have had their retrial adjourned until 26 June. The re-trial was scheduled for 15 May (CM 1319 February) but the absence of a chemical substance expert on that date forced the adjournment. Hobbs' sister-in-law Shirley Hobbs is devastated by the delay: "We were hoping it would finally be over this time and they would be on a plane home," she says.

The judge has promised a conclusive result will be reached on 26 June; he will accept a written statement from the chemical substance expert if necessary.

Both men are suffering health problems.
