Speaking at a BRF meeting i London, director Kenneth Car nell said: "Unless the reiativel small-scale improvements t bring the road up to basic star dards are made, Cornwall is i danger of being economicall strangled.
Industry needs fast and eff cient roads to enable the rat% materials and manufacture goods to be transported a quickly and as cheaply as po.E sible, he explained.
Delays and indecision by th Government have resulted ii people in towns and villages sul fering "undue" noise, pollutioi and environmental disturbanci that road improvements and ail construction of more by-passe could have prevented, Mr Can nell added.
"Poor roads in the South Wes have made it more difficult tr attract industrial and commer cial development to the region,' he pointed out.
