A NEW load securing system, for which Swedish-based Bargningsteknik claims to have a worldwide patent, attracted much attention at last week's Association of Vehicle Recovery Operators exhibition.
The ratchet tensioner is secured to the side rail by a cam-shaped block which, when turned from its upright position, slides freely in the channel.
The same manufacturer also displayed a multi-purpose recovery and transporter vehicle based on a Volvo F7 chassis. This has the ability to carry a recovered car or light commercial on its tilting platform, while at the same time towing a heavy commercial on its lifting frame. All functions are controlled by one man from a console at the side of the vehicle. Air Valves control the equipment's fully hydraulic operation.
Amalgamated Recovery Equipment, on whose stand the impressive PEL equipment was exhibited, hopes soon to have a franchise for it in this country.
