MR. W. BURKE SKIPPER, B.Sc., A.M.I.Mech.E., has been appointed assistant to the transport manager of National Benzole Co., Ltd.
MR. SAMPSON GOLDSTONE has become chairman of Ward and Goldstone, Ltd., following the death of M. A. A. GOLDSTONE. He will continue as managing director.
MR. 'HERBERT H., CROW has been unanimously re-elected chairman of the Metropolitan and South Eastern Area of the Road Haulage Association. Ma. B. C. Rom, MR. J. S. F. POLLITZER and MR. C. W. H. Samutow continue as vice-chairmen.
MR. C. S. R. HALL has been elected chairman of the Merseyside and district section of the Institute of Transport. SIR R. HODGES and MR. E. R. PRITCHARD are vice-chairmen. The secretary is MR, I. F. R. WIGGINS; assistant secretary, MR. A. C. CorraELL; and treasurer, MR, W. S. FINLAYSON.
MR. D. .1. F. JACKSON has been elected chairman of the Western Division of the Traders' Road Transport Association, with MR. C. ..T. HORSLEY as vice-chairman. Ma. S. S. ROBSON has been elected chairman of the Northern Division for the ninth successive year. MR. S. H. MNEs has been re-elected chairman of the Scottish Division, with MR. W FAIRBAIRN as treasurer.
MR. W. LUDLOW TAYLOR has been appointed sales supervisor of B.E.N. Patents, Ltd. MR. R. W. DEANE has become sales and service representative for Scotland, whilst certain eastern counties are now covered by MR. J. B. HERBERT. MR. J. A. H. BAILY has become sales and service representative for parts of the West Country and MR. B. R. Gmuta-rr for six Midland counties, whilst MR. D. F. TAYLOR now covers four counties in the Thames Valley.
MR. E. R. Hou_aams has relinquished the managership of the northern region of A.C.V. Sales, Ltd., to become sales manager of the central region. He will continue to maintain contact with important municipal undertakings in Lancashire. MR. E. H. ItoNor& has left the post now filled by Mr. Hollands and becomes sales manager of the southeastern region. He will control the _region jointly with MR P. J. ARROW?, until Mr. Arrow retires later next year. The northern regional sales managership has been assumed by MR. C. F. CALVERT, formerly divisional manager, Yorkshire area.

Ma. ALONZO LIMB, managing director of C. C. Wakefield and Co., Ltd., has assumed the additional responsibility of deputy chairman. MR. L. W. FARROW, C.B.E., is chairman.
MR. W. J. CHEsrEa. and MR. P. T. CHESTER have resigned their positions as directors of William Chester Bros. (Burton-on-Trent), Ltd., a subsidiary of the Braid Group, Ltd. Chester Bros. have been reorganized.
MR. W. E. THOMPSON has been appointed a director of Laycock Engineering Co., Ltd. He continues as secretary and will deal particularly with commercial and financial matters. MR. KENNETH WALKER, assistant production engineer, has been appointed works director.
MR. W. A. PARKES has been elected chairman of the Midlands centre of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers. Other centre chairmen are as follows: Yorkshire, MR. A. WIGGLESWORTH; Scotland, MR. W. MARTIN; north-west, MR. L. H. LEE; East Midlands, MR. E. lowErr; eastern, MR. J. F. WOOD; western, MR. G. W. YARWOOD; South Wales, MR. C. Thomas; north-east, MR. J. HUTCHINSON.
MR. JAMES Amos, chairman of Scottish Omnibuses. Ltd., has been elected a vice-president of the Institute of Transport. Other vice-presidents are MR. R. W. Black, chairman of the Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd., Ma. C. K. BIRD, Railway Executive, MR. P. G. MASEFIELD, British European Airways, SIR GILMOUR JENKINS, secretary, Ministry of Transport, and MR. P. J. R. TAPP, chairman of the Meat Transport Organization, Ltd., and a part-time member of the Road Haulage Executive. The new honorary treasurer is MR. S. B. TAYLOR, chief secretary of the British Transport Commission; and the honorary librarian is MR. H. H. CROW, chairman and managing director of the Crow Carrying Co., Ltd. The election of MR. JOHN ELLIOT, chairman of the Railway Executive, to the presidency. was reported last week.
