Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Seddon Atkinson is boosting its attack on the municipal market with three developments to its 2-11 middleweight trucks.

The company has developed a factory-built 2-11 6 x 2 for municipal work. It is fitted with a non-steering axle forward of the drive axle on both narrow and standard-track models. The extra axle boosts payload by a third, but the vehicle costs 11% more than its fourwheel equivalent. The new 6x2 models have a plated GVVV of 22,360kg in 4.6mwheelbase form, and 20,330kg GVW for the shorterwheelbase chassis.

Improved turning circles in the 6x2 models have been achieved by fitting reducedoffset wheels. The shorter wheelbase version has a turning circle of 15m. Both the steering and intermediate axles on the new 6x2 models are plated between six and 6.5 tonnes, depending on tyre equipment.

The new trucks are powered by the Perkins 210Ti Phaser diesel which drives through an Eaton 4106 six-speed synchromesh gearbox, with an optional Allison MT653 fivespeed automatic. An Eaton 18320 single-speed, doublereduction axle, plated at 10,170kg, is fitted at the rear.

The standard track version of the new 6x2 costs £35,657 and the narrow track costs 236,502, both fitted with full crew cabs.

Both vehicles are also now available with a new three-man municipal cab, which costs £652 less than the full crew. cab, and offers a saving of

130kg. The new cab is particularly suited to trucks fitted with compactor bodywork, since the body can be mounted up to 484mm further forward, alleviating the problem of rear axle overload which is often faced by operators.

o The Perkins Phaser 2101'i engine specified for the new 6x 2 models, is now available throughout the range of 2-11 municipals offered by Seddon Atkinson. The Phaser engine produces 156kW (210hp) at 2,500rpm, and 690Nm (509lbft) of torque at 1,400rpm.
