Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SYR-Daimler-Puch has inluced a new range of dium-weight (nine-16 nes) chassis fitted with an )dynamic cab and highly:ion engines. They may ntually be sold in Britain. he new vehicles come h three engine options, all ed on the established Steyr -litre, six-cylinder lie naturally-aspirated ene has a power output of kW and maximum torque 455Nrn; the turbo model :elops 130kW with 630Nm que; and the charge-cooled it develops 154kW and INni torque.

Vlaximum torque for all Ones is delivered at 1,300 n, with maximum engine ed of 2,400 rpm. All these engines embody the High Performance, Controlled Emission (HPCE) concepts first seen on the 230kW Steyr engine at the Frankfurt show last year.

The HPCE concept relies on improved combustion for greater efficiency.

Steyr claims that this design gives exceptionally good fuel consumption: the chargecooled engine is said to give a specific fuel consumption of

196g/kWh. Emissions are also claimed to be very low, all falling well under the limits specified in Economic Commission for Europe regulations .R24 and R49.

All the engines drive through hydraulicallyoperated diaphragm-spring clutches to all-synchromesh gearboxes.

For the low-powered trucks, the gearbox is Steyes own S 51-5 unit, but the turbo and charge-cooled models get the new ZF 9S109 nine-speed gearbox. The vehicles are not for sale in Britain at the moment, although moves are afoot to set up a Steyr agency here.
