JOHN MADGETT, manager of Ambassador Travel (Eastern Counties), is to take early retirement on September 30 after 40 years' service to the bus industry.
Madgett, who is 63, began his career with Maidstone and District after war service in the RAF. lie first came to Eastern Counties in 1957 but also served in the Midlands and Yorkshire before returning to East Anglia as traffic manager in 1972.
He has been head of coaching operations at Ambassador Travel since its formation in 1984.
