The purchase by the Transport Holding Company of the British Electric Traction Group's ordinary shareholdings in bus companies for E35m (subject to subsequent adjustment in respect of the Group's share of the further sum equivalent to the net retained profits of the companiesj was completed on Thursday of last week.
This follows the passing of the THC Act on March 6 1968 which made the agreement between the THC and the BET for the sale by the latter of its interests in its UK associated and subsidiary bus companies unconditional.
