To change over to the clean filter it is necessary to loosen the two banjo connections, when the unit may be turned through 180 degrees and the new element comes into operation. The balls in the inlet and outlet valves fall by gravity on to the seats in the used filter and effectively seal it. The dirty element may then he cleaned when convenient.

The second new filter is of the twinreversible type, having two filter chambers, the change-over being made by a two-way cock.
