WpIETHER evidence before the W Licensing Authority was given in the capacity of witness or objector was a point argued before the Appeal Tribunal, at Mancheker, on Tuesday, in an appeal by Messrs. A, Thornley and Son, of Macclesfield, against the refusal of the North-Western Licensing Authority to grant a B licence for furniture removal and the carriage of coal.
For the appellants, Mr. F. C. Hindle said that, at the original hearing, Mr. Thornley was informed of an objecttion (by Mr. T. Foster) immediately before the case. opened. They were not then in a position to give evidence on the matter. Mr. Foster made a submission and he (Mr. Hindle) further suggested that the Licensing Authority was wrong in admitting that objection.
