IN The road transport industry scored well in this week's Queen's Birthday Honours list with an OBE for John Little Copland, a former director of NFC and Scottish, and an MBE for William Busfield Houseman, national transport manager of haulier J Bibby.

MBEs have been given to Robert D'Arcy Andrew, Devon County Council's motorway maintenance engineer; Vincent John McCann, supervisory technician at Lothian Regional Council's highways department; and British Empire Medals have been given to I B G Anstice, a former transport manager with Wincanton; G D S Armitage, quality controller with the Rover Group; S M Cain, operations director at Lucas Electrical; L Magee, former inspector of highways and transport at North Yorks County Council; bus driver L Marson of Blackpool Transport; E Moore for services to road safety; M J Naughton, bus inspector at Thamesdown Transport in Swindon; truck driver R Nicholson at British Nuclear Fuels; A Y Nicolau, transport supervisor at the Foreign Office; T F Rice, a service fitter with British Gas; and to R Whitehead; workshop manager at the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust.
