• Shares of Hadleigh Industries, the parent company of Al International and Cooks Transport Engineers, rose to lip above the offer price on their first day on the unlisted securities market, on 14 June.
The £1. 1m flotation will be used for acquisitions. The automotive division, Al, plans to develop trailer service centres along major trunk routes like the one on the A13 at Purfleet. It also plans to capitalise on its relationship with Van Hool, by targetting major fleet operators in the UK.
Cooks is planning to build on its share of the TIR market, by expanding its range to include bodies for rigids and draw-bar trailers. The group also plans to develop its mobile and static units.
