• An Alexander-bodied Leyland Olympian double-decker with features to aid the disabled was among vehicles on show at the International Union of Public Transport (UITP) congress in Budapest, Hungary, last week. It is one of a batch currently being delivered to Lothian Region Transport, and incudes features developed by the Disabled Persons' Transport Advisory Committee. Also on show was Van Hool's range of low-floor, sideengine buses: the A500 city bus, the A508 midi, both with 500mm floor height, and the AG700 articulated bus with 600mm floor height.
