Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

)perator 1 has six Turbo Daily's on his fleet. His nain work is nationwide print distribution for a arge printing organisation.

Dperator 2 has eight Daily's on his fleet and listributes his own goods nationally. Operator 3 is an owner driver on express parcels. Two common factors that all operators agreed upon was the reliability of the vehicle and problems with rust. Operators 1 described it as '100% reliable, technically brilliant but a rust bucket'.

Operator 2 had tried various methods to prevent rust. He had extra underseal applied, vehicles had specialist rust treatment but 'you just can't stop them rusting.' Operator 3 had resorted to changing every 18 months.

All the operators had re-ordered the vehicle in spite of this problem. However, Operator 1 had finally decided to switch to Transits until Iveco sorted the rust probltan out.

The good points agreed upon were the fuel economy, performance and torque, the easy driving characteristics and excellent handling. The average fuel consumption from all the operators was between 23-24mpg.

The minus points picked out were the heavy steering and kerbweight. All three operators thought these were excessive but not a major problem. Operators 1 and 2 stated that their drivers liked the vehicles immensely. The owner driver rated the vehicle as superb for driving and was the only one who felt the need for an intermittent wiper option. Cab stowage space was not thought to he a problem although all agreed that the cab could be laid out better.

All the operators described the vehicle as 'cheap to run and maintain'. Dealer service and back up was looked upon favourably and, compared to Transits, prices for spares and service items were thought to be very good.

The carrying capacity of the vehicle matched up well against other similar vehicles and all the operators felt that the Daily was a particularly smart-looking vehicle.

Operators 1 and 2 both had clutch problems on earlier models but these had been sorted out under warranty. Wheel bearing failure was commented upon by Operator 3 and this had happened to two of his vehicles. He felt, however, this was a result of his high annual mileage and the express nature of his operation.
