• Heavy haulage firm Thomas Marler and Sons has been taken over by Transport Development Group company Beck and Pollitzer Engineering.
As part of the buyout, Beck and Pollitzer has also taken control of two other Marler firms, Alan Marler Crane Hire and ABA Properties which is an industrial storage company.
All three businesses will be incorporated into Beck and Pol
litzer's northern division based in Manchester and renamed as B&P companies. These will be the first transport and crane hire interests in the northern division.
Thomas Marler and Sons has a fleet of 14 tractive units and 22 trailers which have capacities of 90 tonnes. Beck and Pollitzer has already made plans to upgrade the fleet. The Marler group employs 28 staff.
