Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

One of the most impressive pieces of print to come my way in recent weeks is the Eaton Corporation's annual report. It deserves full marks for its literary standard as well as for its dazzling production.

The organisation's function is succinctly defined as the transmission and control of energy in virtually all its forms." The report adds: "More than any other single word, 'motion' describes the company's products and performance."

This formal, tight writing is enlivened by such expressive passages as: "When moving around in circles just for the fun of it, such as on a merrygo-round, or climbing aboard for a white-knuckle ride on a roller coaster, people move with the aid of Eaton fluid power and electrical drives."

I found the report compulsive reading — and for a professional, that's quite something.
