Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

'Cycling is habit-forming. Following the formation of a team of 15 racing cyclists by DAF Trucks (Commercial Motor, March 16), MAN-VW Truck and Bus has revived the 205-mile non-stop cycle race between London (South Mimms) and York.

It is a qualifying round in the Prestige Pernod Competition and is to be held on July 1. The fastest riders are expected to cross the finishing line after little more than eight hours — and without thumbing a lift on a MAN lorry.

What is John Dennis, Volvo's British marketing manager, doing while all this is going on? Before he joined Commercial Motor over 20 years ago, he was a celebrated racing cyclist and promoter, and owner-editor of a cycling newspaper. Perhaps that is why he is keeping out of sponsorship of cycling events. But the popular field of jogging is, so far as I know, still wide open to him.
