WE regret to record the deaths of Mr. IT N. Burney, Mr. F. A. Flin, Mr. D. G. Northam and Mr. E. Walkden.

Mr. Burney, who was 64, helped to build the first diesel engine produced by Mr. F. Perkins at Peterborough in 1932. He was the longest serving employee of the Perkins Group.

Mr. Flin, who was 67, was a pioneer of motor coach services and holiday tours. At the time of his death he was still joint director with his life-long partner, Mr. F. Collett. of Manton Motors, Ltd., Croydon, and of other businesses in which they had an interest.

Mr. Northam, who was 73, was deputy chairman and joint managing director of A. W. Chapman, Ltd., Fulham, London, S.W.6.

Mr. Walkden, who was 60, retired from the board of Pilot Works, Ltd., Bolton, last April. He was associated with Pilot Works and their predecessors, M. Edwards and Sons, Ltd., for 26 years. He had been a director of Pilot since 1939.
