A COMPANY DIRECTOR who had carried on operating in her own right without an 0-licence after her firm had ceased trading has been banned from holding a licence for three months.

In addition to disqualifying Diane Jones from holding a licence.Welsh Traffic Commissioner David Dixon revoked the licence held by Milford Havenbased Waterloo Waste Management.

For Jones. Paul Carless said she was seeking to take over the company's business from her father. She had followed the advice given and had acted immediately over the use of an unauthorised centre.

Jones said the company had ceased trading last August when its landfill site was worked out. She had started the next day, dealing in skip hire and waste management. Not notifying the Traffic Area had been an oversight;she accepted that she had been breaking the law in operating without a licence.

Carless argued that operating for seven months without any prohibitions was "proof of the pudding". Though maintenance had been poor two years ago. Jones had got things right.

Warning Jones that she must not continue operating without a licence, the TC indicated that if there were no more misdemeanours she could apply for a licence in her own name at the end of the disqualification period.
