• Drivers of 16-tonne vehicles with a trailer without a speed limiter fitted could face a fine of £2,500 and a delayed prohibition from 1 August. The new regs apply to vehicles of 16t and above registered after 1 Jan 1988 plated to tow a trailer of more than five tonnes maximum gross weight.
